Diario De Manila | Philippine Retailers Association Honors the Country’s Best at OFR 2026, Celebrating Innovation, Leadership, and Retail Excellence
Pasay City, Philippines — The Philippine Retailers Association (PRA) celebrated the country’s most outstanding retailers, shopping centers, and retail organizations during the 2026 Outstanding Filipino Retailers (OFR) Awards, recognizing businesses whose innovation, customer-centric strategies, operational excellence, and responsible leadership continue to redefine the future of Philippine retail.
Held at the SMX Mall of Asia, following the successful conclusion of the National Retail Conference and Expo (NRCE) 2026, the awards highlighted the same themes that resonated throughout the conference—innovation, digital transformation, sustainability, people development, and future-ready leadership—as the industry continues to navigate rapid technological and consumer change.
Since its establishment in 1997, the OFR Awards has become one of the Philippine retail industry’s highest honors, recognizing organizations that not only achieve commercial success but also elevate industry standards through responsible business practices, creativity, and continuous innovation. The 2026 edition introduced a refreshed evaluation framework that reflects today’s evolving retail landscape while preserving the awards’ long-standing tradition of recognizing excellence.

Honoring Retail Leadership
Beyond recognizing outstanding businesses, PRA also honored individuals whose contributions have helped shape Philippine retail.
The 2026 PRA Legacy Award was presented posthumously to Ms. Vivian Que Azcona, recognizing her lifetime of leadership, service, and lasting contributions to both Mercury Drug and the Philippine Retailers Association.

Meanwhile, Roberto “Bobby” Claudio and Ma. Alegria “Bing” Limjoco received the 2026 PRA President’s Awards as Pillars of Philippine Retail Leadership, recognizing their decades of service, visionary leadership, and enduring contributions to the Philippine retail industry and the continued growth of PRA.

Guided by an Independent Panel of Experts
Ensuring the integrity and prestige of the awards was an independent panel chaired by Harvey Ong, 2026 OFR Awards Committee Chair and Director of the Philippine Retailers Association.
Joining him were respected leaders from the Department of Trade and Industry, Management Association of the Philippines, NielsenIQ, Great Place To Work Philippines, the Philippine Institute of Interior Designers, and the retail consulting sector, bringing together expertise in government, business leadership, workplace excellence, market intelligence, consumer behavior, and retail innovation.
Continuing PRA’s Mission
The Outstanding Filipino Retailers Awards reflects the Philippine Retailers Association’s continuing commitment to advancing Philippine retail by recognizing organizations that embrace innovation, strengthen customer trust, invest in people, and contribute to sustainable economic growth.
Following the momentum generated by NRCE 2026, the awards reaffirmed that the future of Philippine retail will be shaped by businesses willing to innovate, collaborate, and continuously raise the standards of excellence.
As Philippine retail continues to evolve amid digital transformation and changing consumer expectations, the OFR Awards remains a benchmark for industry leadership—celebrating retailers that are not only succeeding today, but helping build a stronger, more competitive, and globally respected retail sector for generations to come.
